Quilling paper art of curling, also known as paper filigree art, is the art of hand crafting of colored paper crafted in strips together to make decorative designs.With this art, greeting cards, pictures, boxes, jewelry boxes, cake boxes can be decorated. 

The paper strips are wrapped around the mold you make with the paperbender tool or by gluing around the mold you make with the needles and the two ends are glued together.

During the Renaissance, the French and Italian nuns and priests used Quilling to decorate the book covers and religious items. The most commonly used papers are paper strips cut from the gilded edges of the books. These gilded paper strips are usually made of quilling as an imitation of iron products. Became fun among the ladies in the 18th century became popular in Europe. Quilling art is later spread across America.
